 BABY LOCK CONTEST MAKES QUILTERS’ DREAMS  COME TRUE:
OFFERS QUILTERS THE CHANCE TO WIN $10,000

 

ST. LOUIS—For serious quilters, traveling to Quilt City, USA – Paducah, Kentucky – is a dream come true. For one lucky winner, this dream will soon become a reality. Baby Lock’s new contest, I’m Dreaming of a Quilt, gives quilters from all over the country the chance to win not only a trip to Paducah for the annual AQS Quilt Show, but a chance to win $10,000 cash plus other great prizes, including a new Baby Lock Quest!

 

“This is an exciting opportunity for quilters of all backgrounds and abilities to showcase their talent,� said Kristi Humes, Baby Lock. “And simply by doing something they love, participants will be entered to win prizes that will enhance their quilting, including the chance to win $10,000 and Baby Lock’s newest machine in the Quilter’s Dream Series—the Quest.�

 

§         The contest is sponsored by Baby Lock, Eleanor Burns’ Quilt in a Day, and www.quiltersvillage.com.

§         To enter, contest rules and the entry form can be found at www.babylock.com/dreams.

§         The contest runs between October 15 and January 15, the last day to enter.

§         A quilter must dream up and create a 12-1/2� x 12-1/2� quilt block. The style, design, color and fabric are all up to her—it’s her dream after all, and she can use her own vision and creativity to design her block.

§         The next step is to snap a photo of the quilt block and either email or mail the photo with an entry form to Baby Lock. Actual quilt blocks will not be accepted, however.

§         After January 15, 2008, Baby Lock will then choose 12 semi-finalists from the numerous entries. These lucky 12 will receive both a prize package full of sewing and quilting supplies from Quilt in a Day and a gift certificate from www.quiltersvillage.com.

 

Beginning January 27, 2008, Baby Lock will display each semifinalist’s beautiful quilt block on the Baby Lock website. The public can then go to www.babylock.com/dreams and vote for the Grand Prize winner, who will receive a chance to win $10,000 at the 2008 AQS Quilt Show in April. All 12 semi-finalists’ quilt blocks will be combined into one quilt created by Eleanor Burns’ Quilt in a Day associates, then raffled off at the Quilt Show. The proceeds will go to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
