Journal Quilts provide me with the opportunity to work, " small and fast," which is a change from my usual method of creating fiber art. I usually work on larger pieces, and add more and more details with paint and thread painting. I think about them too long, usually, so Journal Quilts, for me, are the quick projects that I need to push myself along in the creative process. I am the originator of the Fast Friday Challenge, but I did not join the group that was a spin-off of that idea. I am not really a group challenge person, preferring to work independently.
