| In thinking about creating a self
portrait, I decided to use the Jungian ideas of persona and shadow. The persona is what I
present to the world, the shadow is what is hidden from the world and often myself.
Graphically this is accomplished by the light and dark parts of the face and the light and
dark sides of the parital masking of the face, the latter of which reveals or hides
features depending on external lighting. the variety of star fabrics are intentially used
- I love sci-fi and am an avid Trekkie and also think of myself as a "star" - or
a leader in what ever endeavors I undertake. The clothing is influenced by old sci-fi
movies, or was it the wicked witch in Snow White? Hmmm....... Back
