| My self-portrait expresses the "real
me" -- what's left after you take away the wife and the mother and the employee and
the daughter and the neighbor and the friends ... this is the me who has memories, who can
find fun in doing crazy things, the person who knows who she is and figures she'll
eventually know where she is going. After I made this self portrait that you see here, I
must confess that I liked it so much that I made a second one to keep with me. And this is
significant, because I've always felt like two people -- the one everyone else sees, and
who I really am. As a result of this challenge, I now have a fascination with faces, and especially blank faces. |
