Sauder's is a MUST for anyone shopping for fabric in Lancaster Co. You can't beat this store for flatfold bargains for less than $3 a yard....even less on sale days. (Be sure to sign up for the mailing list before you leave so you will be notified of quarterly sales.) Most yardage is current. They always have latest Hoffman's and a full rangle of Moda, Peter Pan, Benartex, Northcott, Concord, RJR/Beyer and Mumm. Sauder's also has a good range of solids, including Kona, 90" backings and flannel, in addition to all sorts of notions, and a small display of quilting books. Visa, M/C and Discover are accepted and an extra discount given on purchases over $150, except during sales.

Sauders is located in a concrete block basement of a red brick house. There are usually some buggies tied up on the parking lot. Can't miss it.

Don't forget to check out the bulk food on the right hand side of the store.

Only restroom facility is a one holer out back... Best to use facilities at a service station or convenience store on Rte. 272 before you turn off onto Muddy Creek Church Rd.

hanks to Brian and Janet Herr for telling us about the Silk City Diner, which is on Rte. 272 on the right as you head back to Ephrata, but not too far from the Turnpike exit. It is a favorite among the locals and the parking lot is always jammed, so it must be good! <g> (Also, for all of you antique buffs out there, Rte. 272 is probably one of the best stretches of antique malls and flea markets on the East coast! Here is link to a directory of all of the antique shops in the Adamstown area.)
