| Artist Statement | The distinctive
design of the Chrysler Building is the jewel of New York's skyline
and sets the tone for the mixing of wild organic and starkly geometric elements that make up the texture of Manhattan. The Art Deco frieze of an apartment building on the lower East Side provides another counterpoint to the straight lines of the skyscrapers. Despite the grey of steel, street and stone, the threads of New York's history inspire the imagination. |
