"Contessa of Da Messa"
Contessa of Da Messa
Flitting here and there, the Contessa is usually three steps behind. Her mess makes getting things done a major chore and the more behind she becomes, the more mess is left scattered around. While she always intends to pick up later, it just doesn't get done. Here we see her rushing to finish a project, scissors in hand, blocks flying in the breeze. Scraps of threads and beads along with candy wrappers lay at her feet. She has spilled dye all over herself and has more beads stuck to her. She scampers toward completion with a piece of shibori drapped over her arm and beaded blocks scattered behind her. The wholeclothe background is discharged with foiling, the Contessa is disperse dyed and reverse applique', the threads are thread lace, the small blocks paper pieced and the entire quilt machine quilted with copper metalic thread. The binding on the right side is incomplete and the bottom has not been finished and has threads hanging.
