Artist Statement:
Several of my past journal pieces have explored a snow theme. This was an opportunity to take those experiments a bit further. Water is one of those elements that we get to experience in all its forms- ice/snow, water, steam. While it holds a fascination for me in all its forms, I think the frozen form has the most variety- from the most delicate lacy snow flake to the hard glossy surface of ice. My quilt represents many of the forms- cracked ice, ice cubes, snow flakes, frozen snow-covered paths, and glacial ice flows.
