Raindrops are Falling

Raindrops are Falling by Debbie Markowitz of Jerusalem, Israel
Techniques Used:
Hand-dyed cottons, commercial batiks, crystal beads, machine piecing, couched yarns, zigzag edges.
Artist Statement:
My journal quilt shows the green and blue of the sea with crystal beads falling as raindrops. I've often thought about making a quilt with holes in it. The beads as raindrops hanging in the air are perfect for the holes. I almost always work with warm colors and primary colors. Choosing the element of water gave me the opportunity to break out a little and work with cool colors.
