On Saturday We
Pump Water
Cozy Bendesky
New Wales, PA
The quilt depicts the second well pump on the farm of my Aunt Jean, which sat outside, far from the house and gardens, under dappled shade from an arbor and fruit trees. The pump was always there, always welcoming me with its bucket of rainwater and green malloware coffee cup for priming. I can see it in my mind, and remember the pumping water as vividly as if I were standing there today.
