THE DAY SHE GOT A VOICE
23” (W) x 33 ¼” (L)

As a teenager growing up in the late 1960’s, I was greatly influenced by the Woman’s Movement. Who would have thought that burning the bra would still speak so loudly? We, as women have made great strides in today’s world.

This quilt was raw edge appliquéd with cottons and sheers to create the flames. An actual bra was seared and then sewn into the flames. Tie dyed sheer and cotton was used in the border and binding which significantly depicts the fabric style of that time.
