My
Mother Washed on Monday, so Tuesdays She Would Iron...
Betty Spaulding
Signal Mountain, TN
This quiltlet was
made in honor of my mother,
Betty Colcock Kump
Artist, Wife, Mother, Friend
1922-1958
The photograph in
the center was taken by my father about 1956, and is (of course)
a picture of my mother at the ironing board. To sprinkle the
clothes, she used a Coke bottle with a perforated stopper, then
rolled them and stored them in the refrigerator until they could
be ironed.
