Improvisational screen printed cotton fabric with MX dyes. Weaving. Quilting.
Statement
Non-representational images were screen-printed with thickened MX dyes onto cotton fabric. Once the dye process was complete, the fabric was torn into 30 1" x 15" strips which were then woven into a 15" x 15" piece. A sandwich of the woven piece, plus cotton batting, and a back were held together using Misty Fuse. Then it was randomly machine quilted.
This quilt represents the many things I have learned as a member of the QuiltArt list. The information shared, the connections with other members and my development as an artist are all woven together into a small quilt that I would not have done without what I have learned on the list.
